Upon completion of this module, you should be able to describe what causes the viscosity of liquids, explain what causes the surface tension of liquids, and explain what causes the capillary action of liquids. Liquids form in two ways: the melting of solids or the condensation of gases. When a solid melt to form a liquid, heat is absorbed by the solid. When the vapor condenses to a liquid, heat is released from the gas.
